Madonna Compares Her ‘NYT’ Profile To Being ‘Raped’ – And Says ‘Yes, I’m Allowed To Use That Analogy’ – Perez Hilton

Madonna is VERY upset with the journalist who wrote her New York Times profile, and it appears she might be starting a #MeToo movement for the victims of editorial journalism.

The piece in question was published on Wednesday and written by Vanessa Grigoriadis, who, in addition to her Times work, wrote a book about sexual assault on college campuses, Blurred Lines: Rethinking Sex, Power, and Consent on Campus.

One particularly memorable quote from the profile was Madge telling Grigoriadis that she “felt raped” when her 2015 album Rebel Heart leaked online prior to its release date. The journalist questioned the superstar’s choice of words, musing in her article that it “didn’t feel right to explain that women these days we’re trying not to use that word metaphorically.”

Well, Madge is defending her right to use the metaphor (she called it an analogy… we don’t have time to get into the difference right now, but it’s probably both?) in a scathing Instagram post, in which she claimed that her own experiences with rape allow her to “use that analogy” (or, you know, metaphor).

The Hung Up singer also made it clear that she was NOT happy with how her profile turned out in general, adding:

“To say that I was disappointed in the article would be an understatement – It seems. You cant fix society And its endless need to diminish, Disparage or degrade that which they know is good. Especially (strong) independent women.”

Madge went on to explain that she spent “days and hours and months” with Grigoriadis and gave her access to “a world which many people dont get to see” — yet the Times writer “chose to focus on trivial and superficial matters such as the ethnicity of my stand in or the fabric of my curtains and never ending comments about my age,” which, she points out, “would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN.”

Fair point! The article was titled “Madonna at Sixty“…

In hindsight, the 60-year-old said she regrets letting Grigoriadis spend “5 minutes” with her, writing:

“It makes me feel raped. And yes I’m allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19.”

Does she have a point? Do U think Madonna can throw around wild figures of speech because she’s experienced it herself?

Madame ❌ on the cover of N.Y.T. Magazine photographed by my dear friend @jr……….Also sharing my fav photo that never made it in, along with pre-shoot chat and a celebratory glass of wine 🍷 after many hours of work! To say that I was disappointed in the article would be an understatement- It seems. You cant fix society And its endless need to diminish, Disparage or degrade that which they know is good. Especially strong independent women. The journalist who wrote this article spent days and hours and months with me and was invited into a world which many people dont get to see, but chose to focus on trivial and superficial matters such as the ethnicity of my stand in or the fabric of my curtains and never ending comments about my age which would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN! Women have a really hard time being the champions of other women even if. they are posing as intellectual feminists. Im sorry i spent 5 minutes with her. It makes me feel raped. And yes I’m allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19. Further proof that the venerable N.Y.T. Is one of the founding fathers of the Patriarchy. And I say—-DEATH TO THE PATRIARCHY woven deep into the fabric of Society. I will never stop fighting to eradicate it. 💔
